2009 Paragon Car Show

This show, sponsored by the Paragon and Vaughn Motors and hosted by the Southern Style Cruisers Classic Car Club, is held to raise money for charities that affect the Central Louisiana community. The past two shows have raised a total of 5000 for the "I Wish" Foundation that's made possible by the Louisiana State Police.

2010 Spring BBQ Blast

TBIPAC hosted their 2010 BBQ Blast and Southern Style Cruisers Car Show, held at Paragon Casino and Resort. There were a total 17 bbq contestants total this year, who came from all over the gulf region. The contest categories were bbq chicken, brisket, ribs and best sauce. Overall, Smokin’ Lipps took home the grand champion prize, as well as best chicken 1st place. Tee Wayne’s Cajun Cookin’ earned the title of reserve grand champion, as well as capturing first place in two categories – Pork Spare Ribs and Brisket. First place in best sauce was won by Vincent Perez, of One Shot One Kill.

Tunica Biloxi Issues of Importance during the 2005 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature

Following are the major issues of interest for the Tunica Biloxi Tribe during the session:

House Concurrent Resolution 160 - by Representative Walker commended the Tunica Biloxi Tribe for its many positive cultural, economic and social contributions the State of Louisiana and Avoyelles Parish. Chairman Barbry and Council and the entire Tribe were honored on the floor of the House of Representatives. Chairman Barbry is the only Tribal Chairman in history to address the Louisiana House of Representatives.

Senate Concurrent Resolution 89 - by Senator Hines commended the Tunica Biloxi Tribe for its many positive cultural, economic and social contributions the State of Louisiana and Avoyelles Parish. Chairman Barbry and Council and the entire Tribe were honored on the floor of the Louisiana State Senate. Chairman Barbry is the only Tribal Chairman in history to address the Louisiana State Senate.

After 4 consecutive years of defeating tribal recognition legislation, no such instruments were introduced. Continued education efforts by the Tunica Biloxi political and governmental relations team has resulted in a drastic decrease in these attempts from previous years.
